On this Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the gifts that my niece/Goddaughter, Anne Gilliland, brings to my life. Anne was born at Ft. Jackson while her father, Joe, was stationed there. She grew up in Arkansas and Tennessee. She graduated from Maryville College and received her Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Tennessee. She very wisely acquired a background in technology at the same time. Anne spent several years in the Theology Library at the University of the South. She and her family enjoyed a wonderful sabbatical at the University of Edinburgh.  How lucky can you get?  She worked with OhioLINK for several years and earned a law degree from the Capital School of Law. She became the head copyright attorney for the Ohio State University Medical Center. Anne is a gifted scholar and has made numerous presentations at academic conferences. She came to Charleston as a consultant to the College of Charleston Library. She is a wonderful storyteller. Her son Patrick is a staunch environmentalist. I always thought that Anne would become a distinguished theologian. I haven’t given up on that idea. Whatever she tackles, she does it with gusto. Anne’s husband Eric is a math professor who shares her love for travel. On this Thankful Thursday, I am very thankful for Anne Gilliland.

Thankful Thursday is a day set aside to recognize the importance of someone to our lives and to let her or him know of our gratitude. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Say Something Nice; Be a Lifter. You will be glad that you did.
