Mayor Joseph. P. Riley has declared June 1, 2013 as Say Something Nice Day in the City of Charleston. In his proclamation he stressed the importance of communication to the well being of any organization or community.
Charleston’s reputation as The Best Mannered city in the country is a reflection of its welcoming attitude. Charleston has promoted itself as a city where civil discourse is practiced and appreciated. “We are happy to proclaim the 8th annual Say Something Nice Day. We urge all of our people to strive to be especially kind on that day.”
