On this Thankful Thursday, I am grateful for the gifts that James B. Gossett brings to my life. He is the son of my mother’s brother and his wife, Uncle Jim and Aunt Norma. Their home was always a fun place to be. Uncle Jim played and sang in a country music band. We visited each other regularly. J. B. and I were the best of friends, but fought often and enjoyed all sorts of boyhood pranks. With older bullies, he was my ardent defender. We spent many weekends together at my grandparent’s farm near Woodruff, S.C. In later years he moved to Florida and became a very successful businessman. Recently he has been a mainstay in keeping the Easler Family Reunion flourishing. Our grandmother was an Easler before marrying our grandfather Gossett. On this Thankful Thursday, I am glad that J. B. Gossett is a part of my life.

Thankful Thursday is a day set aside to recognize the importance of someone to our lives and to let her or him know of our appreciation. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Say Something Nice; Be a Lifter. You will be glad you did.
