On this Thankful Thursday, I am grateful for the gifts that Janice and Dr. Malcolm Clark bring to my life. They are faithful members of First Baptist Church and take on the responsibility of tidying the sanctuary after the services on Sunday morning. They met at Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Janice taught overseas in the  US Air Force schools for four years She also taught in Arlington, VA, and in Charleston at Miss Mason’s and in the public schools. Malcolm spent most of his career as a professor of history at the College of Charleston. He became an assistant professor in 1966. He rose to associate professor in 1971 and professor in 1975. He received the Distinguish Service Award in 1989. He was named a Distinguished Professor in 1994 and received the Distinguished Advisory Award in 1995. Malcolm holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from George Washington University and the Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University. He has served as editor and president of the South Carolina Historical Society. He has chaired the History and Heritage Committee and the Ministerial Scholarship Committee at FBC. He is also a member of the Hamrick Lectureship Committee. Janice and Malcolm are always willing to lend a helping hand.
