On this Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for the gifts that Gene Plyler brings to my life. Gene grew up near Rock Hill, South Carolina and graduated from Rock Hill High School. He graduated from Piedmont Bible College and has a distinguished career in church work, real estate and now nursing. Gene was ordained by Edgemoor Baptist Church where he attended Vacation Bible School as a boy. Gene is an excellent Sunday school teacher. He sings in the choir at First Baptist. Gene is a natural for nursing because he has shown such skill and compassion in helping several older members of the congregation. He recently completed a special program of study at Trident Technical College that prepared him for working with older patients in their homes and nursing facilities. Gene can repair or upgrade almost anything. He comes from a large family and every Christmas he writes a Christmas letter that he reads to many of us. He really was a tremendous help to our friend Jimmy in the last year or so of his life. Everyone needs a Gene Plyler in her or his life. Today I am thankful for the gifts that Gene Plyler brings to my life.
Thankful Thursday is a day set aside to honor someone special in our lives and to let her or him know about it. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Say Something Nice: Be a Lifter. You will be glad that you did.
